Come
unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you
rest" so says our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (in Matt. 11:28).
What
is "rest" in the divine context? How do we find it especially for those
who are weary? God's rest goes beyond the physical state of freedom
from worries and pains, and personal satisfaction. It encompasses being
at peace in both the physical and spiritual states, with the latter
emphasizing the special relationship and bonding with your Creator.
To
attain this "God givein rest" it is imperative for one to know and
accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, walk with Him in the Light
of His Word. What a glory He sheds on your way, when the Holy Spirit
guides you to do His Will? Surely He will abide with you by forging a
unique relationship filled with great rewards. The outcomes from such a
relationship with your Creator include Salvation, Eternal Joy and Peace
of Mind which are precursors to "God given rest".
In
John 3:16, the love of God for mankind is aptly captured, and assuredly
belief in the Lord Jesus Christ via trust and obedience to His
Commandments guarantees a life from perdition. He is the Way, the Truth
and the Life.
Follow Him as He beckons unto you to receive your long-desired rest from Him.
