A CHRISTIAN WITHOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT IN NOTHING BUT A PAGAN.

The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch after the spirit of the Lord had come over them like a tongue of fire in the upper room. The people of Antioch only saw the way this people behaved, the way they walked and the way they did there things and they saw that they did just like Jesus did, but one thing the people of Antioch might not know was that the spirit of the living Jesus had come inside this people to make living a life just like Him very easy.

Believing God and even being baptized does not guarantee the presence of the Holy Ghost in ones life. An example is the life of Simon the sorcerer which the people believed as a great one for his sorcery and for bewitching people, but the moment Philip started preaching the Gospel in Samaria in the Acts of the Apostles 8:12 the people believed unto the words of his mouth and were baptized including Simon which was one the know sorcerer but Simon believing and being baptized had not guaranteed the presence of the Holy Ghost and he did not know the way to go about it as he decides to offer Peter money for the gift of the Holy Ghost "Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. " (Acts:8:20)  Peter said.

Majority of us  want the Holy Ghost because we have seen its mighty powers but our heart is not yet right with God just like Simon who had believed and already started working with Philip but it was unfortunate for him that he was not different from a pagan who had not know God because his heart was not right before God. The gift of the Holy Ghost if free to everyone with an Open heart for it which is the true identity of a Christian.

A lot of thing hinder the gift of the Holy Spirit and one major thing there is, is sin. "For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity, " Peter told Simon. The Holy Spirit is the one that free a willing soul from the bond of iniquity but the moment that heart is not ready for Salvation, the Holy Spirit is redundant and will not attempt to come inside such. Brethren the end time is near and the Holy Spirit is looking for whom to dwell in, is your heart prepared for Him.
